Sparkly Half-Granny Shawl

This traditional stitch is made modern with the bright pink yarn and shiny sequins dispersed throughout. The sparkly triangular shawl will be perfect to wrap around your neck in warmer weather, as it is very light.
I used one skein of Patons Lace Sequin in Quartz with an F hook.

Shell: 3 dc in sp indicated
Corner: shell, ch 2, shell in ch 2 sp
*turning ch 3 counts as 1 dc

Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to form circle
Row 1: ch 3, 3 dc in ring, ch 2, 4 dc in ring
Row 2: ch 3, turn, 3 dc between 1st and 2nd dc in previous row, sk 3 dc, work a corner into ch 2 sp, sk next 3 dc, 4 dc in space between 3rd and 4th dc.
Row 3: ch 3, turn, 3 dc in sp between 1st and 2nd sts, sk 3 dc, shell in sp between dc sts, sk 3 dc, work corner, sk next 3 dc, shell in sp between dc sts, sk next 3 dc, shell + 1 dc in same sp
Row 4: ch 3, turn, sk 1st dc, shell in space between dc sts, work *sk next shell, shell in next sp between shells* until you reach ch 2 sp, work corner, repeat * to * until last shell + 1 group, shell + 1 between shell and 4th dc

Work in established pattern of row 4 until desired size.

Without cutting yarn, work the border: ch 3, turn. In each sp between shells, work *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc* until corner. In corner work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc. Repeat * to * until last shell + 1 sp, work 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in this sp.
Fasten off, and weave in all ends.

I blocked this to make the border have little points. I just wet it and pinned each point along the edge. I also pinned a line down the center of the shawl, where the corners are, and pinned along the top.
I love the tiny sequins in this lacy yarn. Unfortunately, all my local craft stores seem to have stopped carrying this yarn!
The finished, blocked scarf is 42" along the top, and 19" from the top center to the bottom point of the shawl.
Enjoy this pattern!
Xoxo, Alyssa
